The Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has insisted that the transfer of students from one course to another must be consented to by the students involved.
Myschoolnews reports the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede stated this during an interactive session with the Council of Heads of Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology (COHEADS) at its 148th Regular meeting held on Wednesday, 8th June, 2022 in Abuja.
He stated it to clarify the position of the examination body on the request of some institutions who have called on JAMB to allow them transfer students without passing through the cental Admission Processing System (CAPS) set up by JAMB to ensure transparency in the admission process.
The Registrar revealed transfering students without their acceptance on CAPS might lead to the issue of double admissions, a situation JAMB is trying to avoid thus the need for students to always be allowed to either accept or reject any transfer on CAPS to avoid future problems for such candidates and everyone involved.
