The NYSC DG has urged corps members to stay abreast of topical national issues especially in the build-up to the 2023 general elections.

The Director General of NYSC, Brig Gen Muhammad Kaku Fadah stated this today during a nationwide address he delivered to corps members to mark the official opening/swearing in ceremony of 2022 Batch B Stream 2 corps members presently on camp.

Gen Fadah, who was represented at the occasion in Rivers state by the State Coordinator, Mr. George Mfongang, admonished the corps members to "take seriously, the lessons in the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, (SAED) training programme, leadership coaching, paramilitary drills and other physical training so as to develop and realize their potential as well as attain individual feats".

Speaking further, the NYSC boss enjoined the corps members to see the "Oath of Allegiance which they swore to during the swearing in ceremony as action that will guide them for a lifetime and have positive influence on everything they do".

Concluding, Gen Fadah charged the corps members to use the NYSC platform which they have been mobilized into to "promote national unity and integration in all they do and at all times".

The administration of Oath of Allegiance was performed by the Chief Judge of Rivers state, Hon. Justice Chibuzor Amadi represented by Hon. Justice Sobore Biambo.

Side attractions at the ceremony were traditional wrestling match between the Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and the DG NYSC, Brig Gen MK Fadah, centipede walk and martial arts display. A total of 1273 corps members were sworn in at the occasion.
