Center for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID) Trains Federal University Lokoja (FUL) Mass communication students on investigative journalism at 4-days campus journalism clinic.
Not fewer than 60 students of Federal University Lokoja, FUL, and Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba participated in a 4-day Campus Journalism Clinic organized by the Center for Journalism Innovation and Development, CJID. The Center is one of the leading media development organizations in West Africa.
CJID, formerly known as Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism (PTCIJ), is a non-governmental organization founded in 2014 aimed at promoting a truly independent media landscape that advances fundamental human rights, good governance, and accountability in West Africa through investigative journalism, open data, and civic technology.
The 4 days training, which was held recently at LT-B, College of Health Sciences (Adankolo Campus) of the Federal University Lokoja, featured insightful teachings which includes but were not limited to Essentials of News Reporting and Writing, Basics of Investigative Journalism, Evidence-Based Multimedia Investigative Journalism, Data Journalism, Fact-Checking, Gender Transformative Approach to Storytelling, and Ethics of Journalism.
Following the completion of the training, the Deputy Director, CJID, Busola Ajibola along with the Deputy Director, Accountability Programmes, Mboho Eno, and other members of the team, including some of the beneficiaries (students), paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi.
