Convenant University, Professor Adebayo Urges SWEP Students to Work Together and Build Team Spirit

Covenant University, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo, enjoins Covenant University students who returned for their Students Work Experience Programme (SWEP) SWEP Students to Work Together and Build Team Spirit.

The Vice-Chancellor of Covenant University, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo, has enjoined Covenant University students who returned for their Students Work Experience Programme (SWEP), to use the 6-weeks-long programme to develop the spirit of teamwork, so as to evolve cordiality with others in the world of works.

He said this at the opening ceremony of the SWEP Programme, where he was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olujide Adekeye.

He enlightened the students about the importance of the programme to the development of their life and experience; pointing out that they would be taken through the rudiments of working in their various laboratories, and handling of basic tools and equipment that pertain to their line of studies, which would ultimately culminate in them becoming masters of their work environment.

Professor Adekeye, implored them to adhere to all the rules and regulations of the University even during this SWEP period, and encouraged them to use the period for rigorous learning and to ask questions about the proper use of the tools and equipment, especially, as it pertains to their various practical sessions that would be all encompassing, since they are all engineering and building technology students.

The Dean, College of Engineering, Professor David Olukanni, gave the cheerful news that all the courses in engineering, offered in the University have been undergoing the Outcome Based Education (OBE), with the attendant benefit that they could practice their trade in virtually any country in the world.

He also joined his voice to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s in advising them to take the programme seriously for their own good.

Also present at the programme were the Director of Students Work Experience Scheme, Dr Adeyinka Adewale, and other senior lecturers and support staff involved in SIWES/SWEP programmes.
