At the occasion the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji, described Mr. Adebayo as a man of sterling qualities and stellar attributes. She said “He was an inspiration, a great pillar in the university community, a passionate leader, a builder and great contributor to the development of the university. Mr. Adebayo served FUTA meritoriously and made a mark this side of the divide and assisted immeasurably to lay a solid foundation of an enviable university registry. The Vice Chancellor said the university is however consoled by the fact that he lived a fulfilled life, impacted on lives as a mentor of Registrars and left his footprints in the sand of time.

In a heartwarming tribute, the Registrar, Mr. Richard Arifalo said Mr. Adebayo was extremely responsive and exceptionally effective as university professional administrator. He said “as a registrar Mr. Adebayo will be remembered as the de facto builder of the registry which has provided Registrars for other universities. He is a reference point in the University Leadership Style and direction”.

On his part, a former Vice Chancellor of the Redeemers University, Professor Debo Adeyewa described Adebayo as a pacesetter and prolific administrator whose track record of dedication to duty was worthy of emulation.  A number of other dignitaries spoke in glowing terms, extolling the virtues of the late registrar describing him as part of many parts.

In his homily Pastor Olarenwaju Ajayi said all our works on earth will be judged on the last day and it was imperative that all mortals make judicious use of their time on earth. He said just as man keeps records of faithful stewardship, God also keeps records of all the deeds of man. He said Mr. Adebayo worked as one who he also used his gifts and abilities to work for God. The cleric said every aspect of a man’s life is ministry as far as God is concerned and that a day is coming when all will give an account of the life that God has given to us. He urged all present to rededicate their lives to the service of God and humanity.

Mr. Adebayo a quintessential university administrator worked tirelessly along with others to lay a solid foundation for the university and his imprimatur of excellent service and professionalism are still clearly discernible in the Registry.
