The institutions where prospective students can study animal science and fisheries are;

  • Abia state University (ABSU)
  • Imo state University (IMSU)

Candidates who are not interested in pursuing their academic ambition in the above listed schools should ensure that adequate information is obtained from the school to avoid subsequent change of course due to in availability of this course in such and institution.

Jamb Subject Combination for Animal Science and Fisheries

The approved subject combination is given below and the status of each subject as it relates with animal science and fisheries. They are;

  • English language; Compulsory
  • Biology or Agric Science; Compulsory
  • Chemistry; Required
  • Mathematics or Physics; Required

Admission Requirements

  • Direct Entry Requirements; in addition to Utme requirements, direct entry candidates for admission into Animal Science and Fisheries should obtain a minimum of Two ‘A’ level passes or equivalent in Chemistry and one of Biology, Botany, Zoology, Agric Science, Geography, Geology, Mathematics and Economics.
  • Utme Requirements; Utme candidates should possess a minimum of Five credits at O’ level in the following subjects; English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agric Science and one of Physics, Geography or Economics.

The admission requirements stated above are the general requirement for admission animal science and fisheries. However, candidates should know that there are specific requirements pertaining to individual institutions, this include the ND, NCE, IJMB, JUPEB, etc.  And the required grades for DE candidates and some special considerations for utme candidates. These will be determined by the institutions involved.
