The Chairperson of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ambrose Alli University (AAU), chapter, Dr. Cyril Onogbosele has ordered the members of the academic Union to STAY AWAY from the University's campus until their salaries are fully paid, Myschoolnews.ng gathered.

This was contained in a memorandum that was recently released and signed by the Union Chairperson, Dr. Cyril Onogbosele and made available to our correspondent.

The memo fully read this;

RE: COMMENCEMENT OF MONITORING OF STAFF ON RESUMPTION OF DUTY

Comrades, on behalf of the EXCO of ASUU, AAU, Ekpoma, I thankfully acknowledge your strong resolve to sustain the ongoing national strike of the Union.

The Union has noticed that the University Administration has not repented in its plan to decimate the Union and celebrate the reign of lawlessness, impunity, maladministration, tyranny and ill-treatment and suppression of workers in the University. The latest missive to staff is the one on the above referenced subject matter by the Acting Registrar, dated Wednesday, 22nd June, 2022 .

Comrades, the University Administration cannot beat the Law. Implementation of the threats in the aforementioned memorandum to staff by the University Administration will be resisted by the Union through legitimate and legal means. Don't be intimidated! The Union's strike is legal. Please ignore and consign the memorandum to the trash bin; continue to STAY AWAY from the University's campus or workplace and sustain the withdrawal of your statutory duties (including delivering of lectures, conduct of examination and attendance of any statutory meeting) during the ongoing strike.

The University Administration should withdraw from a futile expedition and comply with the State Government's directive (dated 8th June, 2022) on payment of all outstanding salaries of staff in the University with immediate effect. The University Administration has a moral and statutory yoke to contend with.

Ever-strong comrades, do not capitulate in the present struggle to right the perennial wrongs in the University. The time is now.

United we bargain and win! Divided we beg and lose!! Victory is certain!

Dr. Cyril Oziegbe Onogbosele
Chairperson, ASUU, AAU, Ekpoma
