The University of Lagos and State University of Education in Moscow, Russia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the academic exchange of teachers and students.

The University of Lagos and State University of Education in Moscow, Russia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the academic exchange of teachers and students, as well as the development of joint educational programmes.

The epochal event happened on Monday, June 26, 2023 at the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics & Research), Professor Bolanle Oboh.

By signing the Memorandum of Understanding, both Parties agree to develop the following areas of activity:

Exchange of professorial staff and researchers.

Exchange of students.

Cooperation in research activities.

Cooperation in the implementation of joint educational programmes.

Joint launch of the “Centre for Open Education in Russian” and teaching Russian at the University of Lagos.

The Memorandum of Understanding will be valid for five (5) years, and comes into force from the date its signing by the Parties. It may be extended for an additional five-year period by the Parties’ mutual agreement.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics & Research), Prof. Bola Oboh and Rector for Science at the State University of Education, Dr. Kulikov Dmitry, signed the agreement for their respective universities.

The Director of Academic Planning, Professor T. Ilori ; Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. O.A. Adeboye; and incoming Dean of Arts, Professor A.M. Ilupeju were some staff of the University of Lagos who were present at the signing.
