UNILAG announces admission into Masters in Hydrographic surveying programme for 2023/2024 academic session.
The University of Lagos hereby invites applications from interested and suitably qualified candidates for admission to the Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Hydrographic Surveying for the 2023/2024 Academic Session.
The Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Hydrographic Surveying is an interdisciplinary programme, designed to equip students for exciting careers in the fields of Maritime Mapping, and Data Acquisition and Interpretation.
Domiciled at the Institute of Maritime Studies (IMS), University of Lagos, the programme aims to bridge identified manpower gaps and to enhance Nigeria’s maritime capacity for economic development, in line with global best practices.
The programme is rich in academic content and enriched with hands-on practical, industry exposure, as prescribed by the International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO).
The programme will be facilitated by Faculty with proven track records in the academia and Professionals from the Nigerian Navy Hydrographic Office, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigerian Merchant Marine, Oil and Gas Companies, and other relevant maritime organisations.
To qualify for admission:
A candidate must possess at least a Second-Class (Lower Division) Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Sciences, Marine Sciences, Engineering, Geography, Surveying, and Earth Sciences from the University of Lagos or any other recognized University.
A candidate must satisfy all the other postgraduate admission requirements.
Graduation requirements:
Part Time: A minimum of four (4) semesters and maximum of eight (8) semesters.
Full Time: A minimum of three (3) semesters and maximum of six (6) semesters.
