UNILAG Mr. Sofiu Oyejide Ahmad, Elected As ICAN 29th Chairman

University of Lagos, Mr. Sofiu Oyejide Ahmad has been elected as the 29th Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN), 

A Chief Accountant and Head of Staff Matters Unit in the Bursary Section, University of Lagos, Mr. Sofiu Oyejide Ahmad has been elected as the 29th Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN), Lagos Mainland and Districts Society.

Mr Oyejide’s emergence in the 2023/2024 Chairmanship election is in recognition of his in-depth knowledge of professional Accountancy and its regulations, as well as a career spanning over thirty-two (32) years in the civil service. His investiture as Chairman and inauguration of the executive Committee is scheduled for 12noon on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Lagos Airport Hotel , Ikeja, Lagos State.

Mr. Oyejide who qualified as a Chartered Accountant in November 2010 was admitted as an Associate Member of the Institute in May 2011. He was conferred with Fellow of the Institute in February 2022.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON congratulates Mr. Oyejide on his well-deserved appointment and wishes him a successful tenure.
