Veritas University Law faculty building Inaugurated by the Chief Justice of Nigeria
The Law faculty building of Veritas University at its permanent site in Bwari, Abuja was inaugurated by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Olukayode Ariwoola. The inauguration was part of events to mark the centenary of the late Justice Idigbe.

The university, founded by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, got a provisional license in May 2007 and commenced admission in October 2008 for the 2008/2009 academic year at its take-off campus in Obehie Town, Abia State. The law firm was founded in 1947 by the late Justice Chukwunweike Idigbe and then it was named the Justice Chike Idigbe Faculty of Law. The firm and the Idigbe family spearheaded the fundraiser and got donors to contribute towards the building construction.
The Senior Partner of the firm and the late jurist’s son, Chief Anthony Idigbe (SAN) was unveiled with the assistance of the CJN. The program was preceded by a mass at the university chapel celebrated by John Cardinal Onaiyekan. The building was blessed by the Chairman of the Council/Pro-Chancellor, Bishop Mathew Kukah. Justice Ariwoola paid tribute to the late Justice Idigbe, saying he contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria’s Judiciary and jurisprudence.
President, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr. Yakubu Maikyau (SAN), also witnessed the event.
