According to the university, the admission portal will open on Monday, July 6, 2026, for prospective candidates seeking admission into its various degree programmes.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission, applicants must:
- Score a minimum of 150 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Possess a minimum of five O'Level credit passes in SSCE or its equivalent, including English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
The university noted that programme-specific cut-off marks will be announced after they are approved by the university management.
Application Process
Prospective applicants are required to:
- Visit the university's official website to begin the application process.
- Select their preferred programme.
- Register and activate their account through the link sent to their email address.
- Log in to complete the application form.
- Upload all required documents.
- Submit the application and pay a non-refundable registration fee of ₦2,500.
- Candidates who did not initially select Bayelsa Medical University as their first-choice institution on the JAMB CAPS platform are required to change their institution to BMU and ensure their O'Level results are uploaded through any JAMB office or accredited JAMB CBT centre.
