FCE Obudu Inaugurates New SUG Executives

The colourful event, attended by staff, students, and invited guests, marked the formal swearing-in of the newly elected leaders who pledged to serve the student body diligently.
In his goodwill message, the Provost of the College, Dr. Richard Ugbaha Utubaku, represented by Dr. Hisham Aliyu Mohammed, congratulated the new officers and urged them to build on the achievements of their predecessors. He reminded the executives that the union is not only a platform for campus leadership but also a training ground for civic responsibility and political engagement.
Dr. Utubaku further advised them to remain disciplined, avoid corruption and social vices, and maintain the reputation of the College. He assured them that the Provost’s office remains open for dialogue, stressing the need for cooperation rather than conflict.
Also addressing the gathering, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Marcel Agim, represented by the Deputy Registrar of Student Affairs, Mr. Peter Agogo, commended the leaders for their electoral victory. He announced slight adjustments in the management of union finances to enhance transparency and accountability, describing it as a step toward strengthening trust between the union and the student community.
The ceremony reached its peak with the formal administration of the oath of office by the College Legal Team, officially ushering the executives into their new roles.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected SUG President, Comrade Aniah Jeremiah, expressed gratitude to God, his family, fellow students, and the College management. He pledged to work closely with all stakeholders to promote student welfare and ensure a vibrant, inclusive, and productive tenure.
