The Provost of the College of Education, Akwanga, Dr. Barnabas Nuhu Barau Best, has reaffirmed the institution's commitment to transparency, accountability and strict compliance with public financial regulations as he received a high-powered delegation from the Office of the Accountant-General of Nasarawa State in his office.
The delegation, drawn from the Inspectorate and Control Department, was at the College to conduct a statutory inspection of the institution's financial records in line with the provisions of Sections 110 and 1803 of the Financial Regulations governing public financial administration.
Speaking during the visit, the leader of the inspection team explained that the exercise was aimed at examining critical financial documents, including Vote Books, Payment Voucher Registers and Schedules, Payment Receipts, Summary Cashbooks, and other relevant accounting records, as part of the government's routine oversight mechanism to ensure fiscal discipline and accountability.

Welcoming the team, Dr. Barau Best assured the inspectors of the College Management's full cooperation and an unhindered inspection process. He subsequently directed the College Bursar to provide the necessary coordination and access to all required documents to facilitate the assignment.
The Provost further wished the delegation a successful and productive exercise, while expressing confidence that the inspection would further reinforce the College's culture of prudent financial management and institutional accountability. He also prayed for their safe journey back after the completion of the official assignment.
