FME Bids Enitan Farewell as New Head of Service, Vows Continued Commitment to Education Sector
The Federal Ministry of Education has formally bid farewell to its Permanent Secretary, Mr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, following his appointment as the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. The ceremony marked the end of his 17-month tenure at the Ministry.
At the handover ceremony in Abuja, Mr. Enitan expressed gratitude to God, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, and the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Sa'id Ahmad, for the opportunity to serve.
Reflecting on his tenure, he commended the Ministry’s Directors and staff for their professionalism and dedication to advancing education and human capital development. He urged them to uphold integrity, accountability, teamwork and professionalism, while embracing data-driven decision-making and prudent management of public resources.
Mr. Enitan also encouraged staff to pursue lifelong learning, mentorship and continuous improvement, stressing the importance of delivering measurable results for Nigerians.

He formally handed over the Ministry’s operational documents to Dr. (Mrs.) Folake Olatunji-David, Director of Basic and Secondary Education, who will oversee the Office of the Permanent Secretary in an acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Permanent Secretary.
Dr. Olatunji-David pledged to sustain the Ministry’s achievements through continuity, collaboration, teamwork and effective service delivery.
The Ministry congratulated Mr. Enitan on his new national assignment and expressed confidence in his continued support for the education sector.
