The Department of History and International Relations, Federal University of Lafia, FULafia, has inducted its latest graduates into the Historical Society of Nigeria, HSN.

The induction ceremony, held at the All-Purpose Hall, Faculty of Arts, recently, brought together students, lecturers and members of the University community.

The event was declared open by the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Professor Mohammed Isa Kida, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Professor Aleruchi Chuku.

In his remarks, Professor Kida congratulated the inductees, describing the occasion as the passing of the mantle of responsibility, integrity and accountability. He urged them to remain trustworthy and uphold the legacy of the land, stressing that "the future is in your hands."

The Head of Department, History, Dr. Joseph Ezekiel Obuje, thanked the University Management for its continued support and urged the graduates to be courageous in discharging their responsibilities as historians.

The Acting National President of the HSN, Professor Zara E. Kwaghe, described the ceremony as a transition into the community of scholars. She urged the graduates to combine traditional research methods with modern technology while maintaining accuracy.

Highlights of the event included oath-taking, certificate presentation, book donations and awards.
