The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA), Niger State, has announced the commencement of admission into three newly approved degree programmes following approval by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The announcement was contained in a notice issued by the Office of the Registrar under the 2026/2027 Registration/Pre-Admission Screening Exercise into Newly Approved Programmes.
According to the university, candidates who sat for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and meet the institution’s admission requirements are eligible to apply for the pre-admission screening exercise.
The three newly approved programmes, their respective schools, O’Level requirements and UTME subject combinations are outlined below.
1\. Financial Technology (FinTech)
School: School of Innovative Technology (SIT)
O’Level Requirements:
Candidates must have credits in:
* English Language
* Mathematics
* Economics/Commerce
* Any two of Physics, Chemistry, Computer Studies, Geography, Data Processing, Economics or Financial Accounting.
UTME Subject Combination:
* Compulsory: Mathematics and Economics/Commerce.
* Electives: Physics, Chemistry, Government, Agricultural Science, Biology or Geography.
2\. Agricultural Science Education
School: School of Science and Technology Education (SSTE)
O’Level Requirements:
Candidates must have credits in:
* English Language
* Mathematics
* Agricultural Science/Biology/Animal Husbandry
* Chemistry
* Any one of Physics, Economics, Home Economics, Food and Nutrition, or Geography.
UTME Subject Combination:
* Compulsory: Agricultural Science.
* Electives: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
3\. Computer Science Education
School: School of Science and Technology Education (SSTE)
O’Level Requirements:
Candidates must have credits in:
* English Language
* Mathematics
* Physics/Computer Studies
* Any two of Chemistry, Biology, Economics or Geography.
UTME Subject Combination:
* Compulsory: Mathematics and Physics.
* Electives: Chemistry, Biology, Economics or Computer Studies.
