KSP Appreciates Salbas Oil and Gas CEO for Sponsoring Students, Seeks Stronger Collaboration

The School of Rural Technology and Entrepreneurship Development, SORTED, Rano, Kano State Polytechnic has expressed its appreciation to the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Salbas Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, Alhaji Saleh Baba, for sponsoring students to pursue various programmes at the School of Rural Technology and Entrepreneurship Development, SORTED, Rano.

The appreciation was conveyed by the school Director, Dr. Nura Haladu, who led members of his management team to present a letter of appreciation to the CEO on behalf of the staff and students of the School on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, at his office.

Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Nura Haladu described the sponsorship as a clear demonstration of Alhaji Saleh Baba’s commitment to supporting education, youth empowerment and human capital development.

He said the gesture had provided the beneficiary students with a valuable opportunity to further their education and acquire relevant knowledge and skills, noting that its impact would extend beyond the beneficiaries to contribute to the broader socio-economic development of Kano State and the nation.

Dr. Haladu further appreciated the CEO for his continued investment in the education and development of young people, stressing the importance of partnerships between educational institutions and organisations in creating opportunities for students and strengthening human capital development.

Responding, the CEO of Salbas Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, Alhaji Saleh Baba, expressed appreciation to the management of the school for the visit and the recognition accorded to his contribution to education.

He explained that supporting young people, particularly through education, remains one of the areas he considers important in contributing to the development of society.

Alhaji Saleh said his commitment to the scholarship initiative was driven by the desire to provide young people with opportunities to access education and develop the knowledge and skills required to become self-reliant and productive members of society.

He disclosed that the scholarship intervention extends beyond Kano State Polytechnic, noting that students in various universities and other tertiary institutions are also benefiting from the SALBAS Scholarship Scheme and pursuing different programmes under his sponsorship.

The CEO stressed that investing in the education of young people is an investment in the future, adding that educated and skilled youths are better positioned to contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities and the nation.

He assured the School of his continued support for education and youth development, while expressing his willingness to explore additional areas of collaboration with Kano State Polytechnic, particularly in education, entrepreneurship, skills acquisition and human capital development.

In a related development, the school also presented a Letter of Commendation to the Coordinator of the SALBAS Scholarship Programme, Kawu Adamu Sule, PhD, in recognition of his commitment, diligence, professionalism and effective coordination of the scholarship programme.

According to Dr. Nura Haladu, the recognition was in appreciation of Dr. Kawu Adamu Sule’s dedication and effective coordination, which have contributed significantly to the smooth implementation of the scholarship scheme and the successful support of its beneficiaries.
