The Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) has organised a one-day training workshop for Deputy Registrars and College Officers ahead of its maiden convocation ceremony.

The workshop, held on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Auditorium II Hall, Oto/Ijanikin Main Campus, was aimed at strengthening participants’ institutional knowledge, planning skills, protocol awareness and administrative competence to ensure effective coordination of the historic ceremony.

Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, the Registrar, Mr Akinfemiwa Opeoluwa, said the training was necessary as the institution transitions from its former college status to a full-fledged university and prepares to graduate its pioneer set of degree students.

He emphasised the importance of establishing sound administrative standards and procedures to ensure the success of the maiden convocation and subsequent ceremonies.

She also stressed the importance of professionalism, attention to detail and sound administrative judgement in ensuring a smooth and successful ceremony.

She further noted that the procedures and decisions established during the maiden convocation would serve as precedents for future ceremonies, urging the University's administrative officers to discharge their responsibilities diligently and with a strong sense of accountability.

The workshop concluded with interactive sessions and practical guidance designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to perform their respective duties during the forthcoming ceremony.
