NBTE Conducts Resource Inspection for New ND and HND Programmes at Federal Polytechnic Damaturu

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has conducted a resource inspection of newly proposed National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes at the Federal Polytechnic Damaturu.

The NBTE inspection team, which arrived at the Polytechnic on Wednesday, was led by Builder Adeshina Oluodo.

On Thursday, the team assessed facilities at the Department of Building Technology and the Department of Renewable Energy for the proposed HND programmes. 

It also inspected facilities for the proposed ND programmes in the Departments of Islam and Development as well as Health Education and Promotion.

Speaking during the exit session, the team leader, Builder Adeshina Oluodo, expressed satisfaction with the Polytechnic's level of preparedness.

 He, however commended the Rector, Dr. Ibrahim Bello Bashir, for his commitment to the growth and development of the institution.

He, however, identified areas requiring improvement, including the provision of additional academic and support staff, laboratories, classrooms, workshops, improved lighting, and other facilities necessary to strengthen the proposed programmes and ensure full compliance with NBTE standards.

Responding on behalf of the Rector, Dr. Ibrahim Bello Bashir, the Deputy Rector (Academic), Engr. Shettima Umara Ali, thanked the NBTE team for its professionalism throughout the exercise.

 He assured the team that all observations and recommendations would be addressed in line with the Board's requirements.

Also speaking, a member of the inspection team, Builder Dr. Samaila Adamu, conveyed the appreciation of the Executive Secretary of the NBTE, Professor Idris Bugaje, to the Polytechnic's management for the warm reception and cooperation extended to the team during the inspection.
