NSUK Staff Cooperative Re-elects Tanimu Yakubu as President, Sets Up Byelaws Review Committee
The Staff Cooperative and Thrift Society of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has re-elected Comrade Tanimu Yakubu as its President for a second two-year term, alongside other members of the Executive Committee.

The re-election and inauguration ceremony, held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, also featured the establishment of a Byelaws Review Committee to update the society’s operational framework in line with its growth and changing needs.
The re-elected executives were sworn in and presented with Certificates of Return, with a commitment to uphold the society’s constitution and maintain transparency and accountability in its operations.
Other members of the Executive Committee are:
* Comrade Isa O. Giza, Vice President.
* Comrade Ja’afaru Abdullahi Abubakar, Secretary.
* Hajara A. Aliyu, Treasurer.
* Bukola Julianah Oluyole, Assistant Secretary.
* Jemima Yohanna, Financial Secretary.
* Ajipson Asinga Sunday, Public Relations Officer.
* Musa Suleiman Danladi, Auditor General.
* Ismail Suleiman, Investment Officer.

In his acceptance speech, Yakubu thanked members for renewing their confidence in his leadership, describing the mandate as a call to greater service and accountability.
He disclosed that the society had grown to approximately 500 active members, with a financial services base exceeding ₦200 million. He attributed the growth to prompt loan disbursement, accountability and active participation by members.
The president directed the newly constituted Byelaws Review Committee to begin work immediately and consult widely with members to develop a comprehensive and acceptable framework for the effective administration of the society.
Speaking on behalf of the Nasarawa State Ministry of Trade and Investment, Mr. Usman Abdullahi Garba, who represented the Director of Cooperatives, commended the society for its contribution to collective wealth creation.
Garba emphasised the importance of discipline, integrity and timely loan repayment in sustaining the cooperative’s operations and financial stability.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Mr. Joel Iduwa Samuel, presented the final electoral report, describing the election as transparent and reflective of the wishes of member.
Members of the Electoral Committee received Certificates of Merit in recognition of their service before the committee was formally dissolved.

In his vote of thanks, the Vice President, Comrade Isa O. Giza, assured members that the new administration would remain committed to the cooperative’s constitution while building on previous achievements and improving staff welfare.
