Pompomari Old Airport Charity Association Visits KIU VC, Commends Community Development Efforts
The Pompomari Old Airport Charity Association has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU), Professor Babagana Gutti, to commend his contributions to community development in Borno State.
Led by the Lawan of Pompomari Old Airport, Alhaji Lawan Modu, the delegation visited the Vice-Chancellor at his office on a mission to appreciate his support to communities within Konduga Local Government Area.
Alhaji Modu praised Professor Gutti for facilitating the rehabilitation of several community boreholes and supporting the improvement of schools in the area. He described the interventions as a demonstration of responsible leadership and genuine commitment to humanity.

"We are deeply grateful for the support you have consistently extended to our communities. Your contributions to the repair of boreholes and assistance to schools have positively impacted the lives of our people. These are the kinds of community services that every leader should strive to render," he said.
The Lawan also appealed to the Vice-Chancellor to support the educational aspirations of youths from the community by considering qualified candidates for admission into KIU.
"We kindly request your support in ensuring that our sons and daughters who possess the required Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) qualifications and have obtained the minimum JAMB requirements are given the opportunity to pursue higher education at Kashim Ibrahim University," he added.
Responding, Professor Gutti welcomed the delegation and thanked them for the visit and the confidence reposed in his leadership.
The Vice-Chancellor reiterated the university’s commitment to providing quality education and equal opportunities for all qualified applicants. He assured the visitors that every candidate who meets the admission requirements, completes the online screening process, and satisfies the university’s admission criteria would be considered strictly on merit.
Professor Gutti further urged parents, community leaders, and stakeholders to encourage young people to embrace education, maintain good moral character, and strive for academic excellence, noting that education remains the most effective tool for individual empowerment and sustainable community development.
He also called on the people of Pompomari Old Airport and neighbouring communities to continue supporting the university by maintaining peaceful coexistence, protecting public facilities, and strengthening the cordial relationship between the institution and its host communities.
The visit concluded with prayers for the Vice-Chancellor, the continued growth of Kashim Ibrahim University, and for peace, progress, and development in Borno State and Nigeria.
