Professor Olugboyega Oyeranti Assumes Office as Dean, UI School of Business
Professor Olugboyega Alabi Oyeranti has assumed duty as Dean of the University of Ibadan School of Business, UISB, effective 1st August, 2026.
Professor Oyeranti is a Professor in the Department of Economics, University of Ibadan, where he teaches and conducts research in development and environmental economics.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree, First-Class Honours, in Economics from Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. He also obtained a Master of Science and Ph.D in Economics from the University of Ibadan.
He has served in various administrative and academic capacities in the University of Ibadan. These include Director, Departmental Undergraduate Programme; Chairman, Departmental Examination Committee; Acting Head, Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies; Senate Member as a Congregation Representative; substantive member of Senate; and Member, Audit Sub-Committee of the Finance and General Purposes Committee of the University Council.

Professor Oyeranti was a Visiting Lecturer to the University of Nairobi under the Partnership for African Social and Governance Research, PASGR, Mobility Support Program for supervisors in the Collaborative Doctoral in Public Policy. He has also served as External Examiner at Bowen University, Iwo, and as Dean, Faculty of Social and Management Sciences at Precious Cornerstone University, Ibadan.
He was a member of the Team of Experts of the African Economic Research Consortium, Nairobi Collaborative Ph.D and Master’s Degree Programme, and Subject Specialist for Environmental Economics Group, Nairobi, Kenya.
He has served as consultant to national, regional, and international organisations. He was also a national consultant to the Technical Working Group on “Education and Manpower Development” for the Preparation of Successor Plans to the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan, ERGP 2017-2020, and the Medium-Term National Development Plan, MTNDP 2021-2025.
Professor Oyeranti had an affiliation with the Centre for Econometric and Allied Research, CEAR, at the University of Ibadan. He is a full member of the Nigerian Economic Society, and Member, International Association for Energy Economics, IAEE.
