Thomas Adewumi University (TAU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Harmony Aquatic Club, Ilorin, to establish a structured Swimming Training Programme for students and interested members of staff.

Thomas Adewumi University (TAU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Harmony Aquatic Club, Ilorin, to establish a structured Swimming Training Programme for students and interested members of staff.

The partnership is aimed at promoting swimming as both a sporting activity and an essential life skill, while supporting wellness, confidence-building, water safety, leadership development and talent discovery among members of the University community.

The programme will provide participants with opportunities to develop their swimming abilities while acquiring practical skills that can be valuable both within and outside the academic environment.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of Thomas Adewumi University, Prof. Francisca O. Oladipo, emphasised the importance of swimming as an essential life skill.

She noted that the initiative aligns with the University’s commitment to Total Human Development and its broader objective of developing students beyond academic excellence.

The programme is open to both beginners and experienced swimmers and is designed to enable participants to improve their skills, remain physically active and develop their potential.
