ABU Releases 2026 Post-UTME Results, Directs Candidates to Check Screening Status

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has released an update on the 2026 UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise and directed candidates to log in to the Post-UTME portal to check their screening status.

According to the university’s Special Bulletin dated Wednesday, August 19, 2026, candidates who have been successfully screened will see a confirmation on their portal indicating that their results have been screened.

However, candidates whose results were not screened may have encountered issues with the information they uploaded during the registration process.

ABU identified several reasons why a candidate’s result may not have been screened. These include:

• Failure to upload a scanned copy of the O’Level result after entering the grades.

• Discrepancies between the grades entered on the portal and those contained in the uploaded O’Level result.

• Uploading unnecessary documents such as examination cards or JAMB registration slips.

• Incorrect JAMB or O’Level subject combinations.

• Major deficiencies in O’Level results.

• Having results from two sittings but uploading only one of the results.

• Uploading handwritten O’Level results instead of a printout from the relevant examination body.

• Uploading incomplete, squeezed or faded results that are not legible.

The university advised candidates affected by any of these anomalies to return to their portals and make the necessary corrections immediately.

ABU warned that candidates whose identified issues are not resolved may not have their admission applications processed.

The university also warned candidates who used their email addresses instead of their JAMB registration numbers during screening registration to re-register, stating that such previous registrations are considered invalid.

Candidates with incorrect UTME or O’Level subject combinations were advised to change to appropriate programmes.

The university further urged candidates and café operators to ensure that all information submitted during the screening process is accurately captured and uploaded.

Candidates who have not yet registered their O’Level results were advised to do so immediately to enable the university to process their admission applications.

Candidates whose O’Level results have not yet been released were advised to wait until their results become available.
