ACU Engineering Gets NUC Nod for Postgraduate M.Eng, PhD Programmes

The National Universities Commission (NUC) Resource Assessment Team that visited Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, has given a positive assessment of the University’s readiness to commence postgraduate Engineering programmes leading to Master of Engineering (M.Eng) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) Resource Assessment Team that visited Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, has given a positive assessment of the University’s readiness to commence postgraduate Engineering programmes leading to Master of Engineering (M.Eng) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees.

Welcoming the assessment team to the University, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, expressed appreciation for the visit and described the University’s Engineering staff as “good ambassadors of the engineering profession.”

Prof. Oduwole reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to the Engineering discipline and its determination to advance its Engineering programmes.

Responding, the NUC assessment team explained that the purpose of the visit was to determine whether the materials and resources available for the proposed postgraduate Engineering programmes met the Commission’s required standards.

Following the assessment, the team commended ACU for the adequacy of its curriculum, noting that the proposed programmes contained sufficient academic content.

The team, however, made recommendations on areas requiring improvement and urged the University and the Faculty of Engineering to work on them.

Responding to the recommendations, Prof. Oduwole assured the assessment team that the University would carefully consider and implement the recommendations arising from the exercise to further strengthen the proposed postgraduate Engineering programmes.
