ACU Strengthens Campus Security with 10 Walkie-Talkie Radios, VC Warns Criminals

Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, has strengthened its campus security operations with the acquisition of ten walkie-talkie radios as the institution declares zero tolerance for criminal activities.

The communication devices were formally handed over to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, following a pledge made by the management of Mide Farms during an official visit by the Vice-Chancellor and her team to the farm on Monday, August 24, 2026.

Receiving the donation, Prof. Oduwole expressed appreciation to Mide Farms, noting that the radios came at a critical time and would significantly improve real-time communication among security personnel across the campus.

She also indicated the University’s readiness to deepen its collaboration with Mide Farms, suggesting that the partnership could extend beyond security-related matters.

The Vice-Chancellor also issued a stern warning to individuals who may seek to engage in criminal activities within or around the University.

“For ACU, it's now Caveant scelesti - let criminals beware,” she declared.

She stressed that the University had zero tolerance for criminals and their activities, adding that individuals with ulterior motives would have no hiding place within or outside the campus.

The acquisition of the communication devices forms part of a broader security overhaul at the institution, which has prioritised the safety of staff and students through the deployment of rapid-response systems in recent months.

Other members of the University Management team also welcomed the development, describing the acquisition as a proactive measure towards creating a safer learning environment.
