ADUSTECH Suspends Mid-Semester Break, Orders Continuation of Lectures

The Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, ADUSTECH, Wudil, has suspended the scheduled Mid-Semester Break for the Second Semester, 2025/2026 academic session to allow for full coverage of course content.

In a circular dated 13th July, 2026 and issued by the Senate Business Committee Secretariat, the university said the break, earlier scheduled from Monday, 13th July to Friday, 17th July, 2026, would no longer be observed.

According to the circular signed by the Academic Secretary, Shehu Saleh, MIPMA, MANUPA, the decision was necessitated by the late resumption of students for the Second Semester, which affected the commencement of lectures in many departments and slowed down syllabus coverage.

“Pursuant to the above, it is unrealistic to observe the Mid-semester Break as scheduled if we are to cover reasonable portions of the course contents of our programmes,” the circular stated.

The Chairman of Senate has therefore approved the continuation of lectures throughout the week earlier slated for the break.

Deans, Heads of Departments and the entire university community have been directed to note, comply and give the directive the necessary publicity.

ADUSTECH management said the adjustment is to ensure academic activities remain on track and students are adequately prepared for the semester’s assessments.
