The Association of Radiologists in Nigeria (ARIN), Maiduguri Branch, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU), Professor Babagana Gutti, as part of preparations for the Association's 2026 Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference.

The delegation was led by the Chairperson of the ARIN Maiduguri Branch, Professor Zainab Mustapha, who commended the Vice-Chancellor for his unwavering commitment to the development of Borno State, particularly his contributions to advancing healthcare, medical education, and the well-being of the people.

Professor Mustapha informed the Vice-Chancellor that the 2026 ARIN Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference, themed "KANEM 2026," is scheduled to hold from 17th to 21st August 2026 at the Zulum Auditorium, University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH).

She explained that the conference is expected to bring together radiologists, policymakers, healthcare professionals, researchers and industry partners from across Nigeria and beyond.

The event will feature scientific presentations, hands on workshops and exhibitions of state-of-the-art medical imaging technologies, while providing a platform for discussions on strengthening healthcare delivery and diagnostic services across the country.

According to Professor Mustapha, hosting the conference in Maiduguri is both strategic and symbolic, reflecting the resilience of Borno State and its growing recognition as a centre of medical excellence and healthcare innovation in Northeast Nigeria.

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor of Kashim Ibrahim University, Professor Babagana Gutti, warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his appreciation to the Association of Radiologists in Nigeria (ARIN), Maiduguri Branch, for the visit.
