The event, themed “Strengthening Institutional Engagement,” brought together academic leaders, administrators, and staff members to explore opportunities within the Education Collaborative Network, with a focus on research partnerships, grant acquisition, mentorship programmes, and innovation-driven academic development.
Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olalekan Asikhia, commended the Centre for Grants and Endowments for organizing the programme, describing it as aligned with the university’s strategic vision of excellence, innovation, and global relevance.
He noted that strategic partnerships remain central to building resilient and competitive universities. According to him, Caleb University is committed to initiatives that expand research capacity and enhance knowledge exchange across institutions.
He stated that the university will continue to support collaborative platforms that create opportunities for faculty development, interdisciplinary research, and global academic engagement.
In her opening remarks, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation, Strategy and Administration), Prof. Adesola Ajayi, also commended the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention in strengthening institutional capacity.
She emphasized that modern universities must actively pursue innovative partnerships to remain relevant in a rapidly evolving academic environment. According to her, the Education Collaborative Network provides a structured platform for sharing ideas, building research culture, and sustaining long-term academic cooperation.

Prof. Ajayi noted that the initiative aligns with Caleb University’s broader vision of positioning itself as a hub for innovation, research excellence, and global academic engagement.
The event concluded with discussions on practical pathways for institutional collaboration and strategies for improving access to research funding and academic partnerships.
