Chrisland University Celebrates Prof. Augustine Falaye’s Emeritus Professor Appointment
Chrisland University, Abeokuta, has celebrated the appointment of its Governing Council member, Prof. Augustine Falaye, as an Emeritus Professor by the University of Ibadan.

Chrisland University, Abeokuta, has hailed the recent appointment of one of its Governing Council members, Prof. Augustine Falaye, as an Emeritus Professor by the management of the University of Ibadan, Oyo State.
The university, in a statement released on Friday, said the honour accorded Falaye was particularly significant as the Professor of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management continued to bring his wealth of knowledge, experience and institutional leadership to the institution as a member of its Governing Council.
Falaye reportedly joined the University of Ibadan as an Assistant Lecturer in 1983 and rose through the academic ranks before attaining the position of Professor in 1997.
His areas of expertise were said to include aquaculture, fisheries management, fish nutrition and sustainable aquatic environmental development.
The statement noted, “For Chrisland University, the honour is particularly significant as Professor Falaye continues to bring his wealth of knowledge, experience and institutional leadership to the University as a member of its Governing Council.”
Congratulating Falaye, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Oyedunni Arulogun, described the conferment as a well-deserved recognition and “a testament to his decades of impactful scholarship, service and commitment to the advancement of education.”
The VC said, “Prof. Falaye’s elevation to the status of Emeritus Professor is not only a personal achievement but also a source of pride to Chrisland University and the wider academic community.
“Prof. Falaye’s vast experience and wealth of knowledge continue to add immense value to the University’s governance and strategic direction, and we are highly proud of his accomplishments and contributions to excellence in academics and national development.”
The university expressed its appreciation to Falaye for his continued service and commitment to the growth of the institution while wishing him many more years of impactful scholarship, mentorship and service to humanity.
