FEGOCOMOSA Pays Courtesy Visit to KIU Vice-Chancellor

The National President of the Federal Government College Maiduguri Old Students’ Association, FEGOCOMOSA, Mr. Chris Habu, has led members of the association on a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Kashim Ibrahim University, KIU, Maiduguri, Professor Babagana Gutti.

Mr. Habu said the delegation was at the university to express appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor for his previous financial support to FEGOCOMOSA at both the national level and the Maiduguri chapter. He noted the support extended to the association’s sports festival and the sponsorship of members who attended the Association’s Annual General Congress, AGC, held in Abuja a few months ago.

He commended Professor Gutti for his numerous contributions to the welfare of indigent persons in Borno State and across Nigeria, stating that his interventions had positively impacted many families.

Mr. Habu further appealed to the Vice-Chancellor, whom he described as one of their own, to support the association’s forthcoming Annual General Congress scheduled to hold in Enugu from October 1 to 4, 2026. He specifically requested assistance with transportation logistics to convey members, especially junior alumni, to and from the event.

The National President also sought the Vice-Chancellor’s support for the association’s proposed water factory project, and appealed for continued assistance in facilitating employment opportunities and admissions for qualified members and their children.

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor of Kashim Ibrahim University, Professor Babagana Gutti, warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed delight at the activities and unity demonstrated by the association.

He described FEGOCOMOSA as a well-established and respected association with members spread across the country, and added that Federal Government College Maiduguri has continued to maintain a distinguished reputation among federal government colleges in Nigeria.

Professor Gutti stated that Federal Government College Maiduguri remains a home for all its alumni and assured the association of his continued support within available opportunities. He emphasized that the university is always willing to assist qualified candidates seeking admission, provided they meet the approved admission requirements.

The Vice-Chancellor also informed the delegation that Kashim Ibrahim University is currently conducting its online Post-UTME screening exercise and encouraged interested and qualified candidates to complete the process within the stipulated period.

The visit ended with goodwill messages, renewed commitment to strengthening collaboration between the association and the university, and a group photograph with the Vice-Chancellor.
