Female STEM Students Can Apply for Afro-Tech Girls ₦100,000 Scholarship Before September 25

Afro-Tech Girls has opened applications for its Project 100 for 100 scholarship, offering ₦100,000 each to 100 female STEM students in Nigerian public tertiary institutions.

The initiative, known as Project 100 for 100, will provide a total of ₦10 million in one-time financial support to selected students towards their university education.

According to the organisation, the scholarship is intended to help beneficiaries meet some of the financial demands associated with their education, including academic materials, transportation, tuition and other school-related expenses.

The programme is open to female undergraduates currently residing in Nigeria and enrolled in public tertiary institutions, including federal and state institutions as well as polytechnics.

Applicants must also be studying a STEM-related degree and have a minimum academic performance of 2:2 or its equivalent.

Afro-Tech Girls said the programme was designed to provide financial support to young women pursuing STEM education at a time when the cost of tertiary education continues to place pressure on students and their families.

The organisation said the intervention would give beneficiaries additional support as they progress through their undergraduate programmes.

Eligible students have until September 25, 2026, to submit their applications for consideration.

The scholarship comes amid wider efforts by organisations in Nigeria to increase female participation in STEM education and careers, particularly in fields where women remain underrepresented.

For the beneficiaries, the one-time ₦100,000 award could be used according to individual educational needs, including academic resources, transportation and other expenses associated with completing their studies.

Afro-Tech Girls urged eligible female STEM students in public tertiary institutions to take advantage of the application window before the September 25 deadline.
