FULafia Clinches 5 Medals at 27th NUGA Game

The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has concluded its participation in the 27th Nigeria University Games (NUGA) hosted by the University of Jos, returning home with five medals.

The university's athletes excelled in badminton, judo, and karate, winning two silver medals and three bronze medals.

FULafia's badminton team, led by Robert Nanji Maureen, Giwa Omowonuola, and Okewu Monica E., secured two silver medals. In judo, James Joseph Makama won a bronze medal in the -60kg men's category, while the judo team, comprising Usman Umar, Felix Omale, and Ekhaegba Goodness Ailenosi, won another bronze. A bronze medal was also secured in karate.

The university's sports committee chairman, Professor Victor Samson Dugga, praised the athletes for their professionalism and responsible conduct throughout the tournament. The team's performance reflects the steady growth of FULafia's sporting program.
