FULafia Holds Maiden Graduation for French Resource Centre, VC Urges Graduates to be Good Ambassadors

The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has held the maiden graduation ceremony for the pioneer set of students of its French Resource Centre, with a call on the graduates to be law-abiding and worthy ambassadors of the University.  

The ceremony for Batch A was held at the Mallam Adamu Adamu Office and Lecture Complex.  

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad Isa Kida, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Partnerships, Prof. Ibrahim Ogiri Hassan, congratulated the graduates and urged them to excel in their future endeavours.

The Director of the French Resource Centre, Dr. Princess Agbor Enu, described proficiency in French as a vital skill in today’s global environment, noting that universities worldwide now place great emphasis on foreign language education.  

Delivering a lecture on behalf of the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Aleruchi Chuku, said multilingualism promotes economic development, innovation, and social cohesion.

He cited the multilingual ability of singer Yemi Alade as an example of how language proficiency enhances global relevance.  

In his goodwill message, the Chief Medical Director of the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lafia, Dr. Ikrama Hassan, said French proficiency strengthens international research and healthcare collaborations.
