TETFund Interventions Have Transformed CUSTECH, Says VC

The Vice-Chancellor of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, FNSE, has commended the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for its commitment to the development of tertiary education in Nigeria.  

The Vice-Chancellor gave the commendation on Tuesday, 14th July 2026, while receiving a TETFund monitoring team led by Professor Issa Abdulraheem at the University’s permanent campus in Osara.  

Prof. Salawu noted that TETFund interventions have significantly enhanced teaching, learning, research, and infrastructural development at CUSTECH, describing the Fund as a dependable partner in the University’s growth.  

He expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and TETFund for various projects executed in the institution, stating that the interventions have strengthened the University’s capacity to deliver quality education.

The Vice-Chancellor, however, appealed to TETFund to extend more support to the University, particularly in student accommodation and water supply. He noted that the unique topography of the permanent campus requires additional investment to meet the growing needs of the institution.  

Earlier, the leader of the TETFund delegation, Professor Issa Abdulraheem, said the team was at CUSTECH to assess the status of TETFund-sponsored projects and identify the University’s priority needs for future interventions.  

He explained that the assessment forms part of TETFund’s commitment to ensuring that intervention funds are effectively utilized while also identifying areas requiring additional support.  

The delegation was conducted on an inspection tour of various TETFund projects across the University.

Speaking after the inspection, Professor Abdulraheem commended the Kogi State Government for its substantial investment in infrastructure at CUSTECH, describing the level of development on the campus as impressive for a relatively young university.  

He noted that the State Government’s commitment, complemented by TETFund interventions, has created an enabling environment for academic excellence and institutional growth.  

The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied during the visit by the Registrar, Mrs. Glory Ojochogu Yakubu; Director of Academic Planning, Pharm. Muhammed Asuku Audu; Director of Physical Planning and Development, Builder Ismail Adoke; and Acting Head, Information, Public Relations and Protocol Unit, Umar Steven Ogirima.
