JAMB Gives Candidates Final Chance to Accept or Reject 2021–2026 Admissions

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for candidates offered admission from 2021 to date to accept or reject their outstanding admission offers.

According to JAMB, the new deadline is Wednesday, September 30, 2026, as against Monday, August 31, 2026, earlier fixed as the deadline for candidates with admission offers dating from 2021 to take action.

JAMB explained that the decision is to give affected candidates one final opportunity to indicate whether they wish to accept or reject their admission offers.

In a statement, the Board urged all candidates with pending admission offers, including regular and CUIIA admissions, to immediately log into their profiles and indicate their acceptance or rejection before the expiration of the new deadline.

It warned candidates against waiting until the last day, stressing that failure to take action within the stipulated period would have consequences for the status of the outstanding admissions.

According to JAMB, candidates who accept their admission offers will be able to proceed to print and obtain their admission letters.

On the other hand, candidates who reject their offers will have their dashboards reverted to “Not Admitted”, enabling the Board to update its records and ensure that its national admission data accurately reflects the current status of candidates.

The Board also clarified that candidates who are no longer attending the institution where their previous admission was offered, or who are currently enrolled in a different programme from the one for which the outstanding admission was offered, may still accept the pending admission.

Such candidates can subsequently apply for the appropriate correction or deletion of the admission, as the case may be, to enable JAMB to properly update their admission status and records.

Similarly, candidates currently pursuing a second degree but who still have an unaccepted previous admission offer may reject the outstanding offer and continue with their current programme.

JAMB further allayed the fears of candidates who have received admission in the 2026 admission exercise but still have a previous admission offer pending.

The Board said such candidates could safely reject the previous admission without any adverse effect on their 2026 admission.

However, the Board stressed that there would be no further extension after Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

It warned that upon expiration of the deadline, all outstanding admission offers from 2021 to date that have neither been accepted nor rejected would automatically revert to “Not Admitted” status and remain so on JAMB’s records.

The Board therefore urged all affected candidates to act immediately rather than wait until the deadline.

JAMB also reiterated that failure to accept an admission offer within the stipulated period would render the offer invalid.
