OGITECH Unveils New Sports Jerseys as Rector Reaffirms Commitment to Sports Development
The Rector of Ogun State Institute of Technology, OGITECH, Igbesa, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, has unveiled the Institute's newly designed Home and Away jerseys in a move aimed at strengthening sports development and enhancing the performance of student athletes.
The unveiling ceremony took place on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Rector's Office. The new kits were formally presented by the Directorate of Sports, led by the Acting Director of Sports, Arc. Oginni Olalekan, alongside the Institute's Coach, Mr. Steve Johnson.
Speaking during the event, Dr. Oluseye expressed satisfaction with the initiative and commended the Directorate of Sports for its efforts in promoting sporting excellence within the institution. He emphasised that continued investment in sports would create greater opportunities for students and contribute significantly to the overall growth and development of the Institute.
According to the Rector, the provision of quality sports facilities and equipment is essential to building a vibrant sports culture capable of producing outstanding results in competitions.
He said: "It can always get better by doing all this. This will pave the way for greater opportunities in sports activities and contribute immensely to the growth and development of our Institute."
Earlier, the Acting Director of Sports, Arc. Oginni Olalekan, praised the Rector for his unwavering support for sports development and his commitment to creating an enabling environment for athletes to thrive.

He described the provision of the new jerseys as a reflection of the steady progress being recorded by the Institute under Dr. Oluseye's leadership.
"This jersey, provided by Dr. Oluseye, is a testament that the Institute is growing and we will continue to grow more. We appreciate his support in giving attention to sports here at OGITECH," he stated.
The newly unveiled jerseys are expected to be worn by OGITECH teams during inter-institutional competitions, leagues and other sporting engagements beginning from the 2026/2027 academic session.
Present at the unveiling were members of the Institute's Management team, including the Deputy Rector, Dr. Odutola Oluyemi, and the Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Aminu Sulaiman.
The development has been welcomed by members of the Institute community, particularly student athletes, as a significant step towards strengthening sports participation and fostering holistic student development at OGITECH.
