NOUN, BPP to Collaborate on Procurement Training and Certification Programmes
The National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, is set to partner with the Bureau of Public Procurement, BPP, to strengthen institutional processes and introduce certification programmes in procurement.
The Vice-Chancellor of NOUN, Prof. Uduma Oji Uduma, disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja during a courtesy visit to the Director General Bureau of Public Procurement BPP, Dr. Adebowale Adedokun and his management.
Prof. Uduma said compliance with procurement laws is critical to institutional success and national development.
“Upon assumption of office I told myself I’ll partner with relevant agencies to help me deliver my mandate. BPP is one of such agencies to help strengthen our mandate,” he said.

“Unless our processes are compliant with BPP we will not deliver on our mandate. As we evolve as a nation, if our procurement processes are not strengthened, we have a problem. Logic is the underlying principle that rules the world.”
The VC said NOUN is keen to work with BPP to develop and run programmes and certification courses in procurement in order to reach more Nigerians.
