A 200-level Law student of Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State, Akinlolu Richard Omisade, has threatened to file a ₦500 million lawsuit against the institution over an alleged fake admission not recognized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
A 200-level Law student of Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State, Akinlolu Richard Omisade, has threatened to file a ₦500 million lawsuit against the institution over an alleged fake admission not recognized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
In a protest letter submitted to the office of the Vice-Chancellor and signed by his lawyer, Barrister Abdulfatai Abdulsalam, Omisade accused the university of negligence and irregularities in handling his admission process, describing the offer as “fake.”
According to the letter, Omisade was offered admission to study Law through an official letter dated August 16, 2024. However, upon verification on the JAMB portal, his name was reportedly missing from the list of candidates admitted to study Law at Achievers University.

“Our client was offered admission to study Law in your institution by virtue of an admission letter dated 16th August, 2024. Upon investigation through the JAMB portal, it was discovered that our client was not genuinely admitted by your school. His name was not found on the JAMB portal for Law admission in your school. This implies that his details were not forwarded to JAMB by your institution for proper consideration,” the petition read in part.
Barrister Abdulsalam warned that failure by the university to address the matter could lead to further action, including petitions to the National Universities Commission (NUC), JAMB, and the Council of Legal Education (CLE), over what he described as “improper and unverifiable admission procedures.”
The university has yet to issue an official response to the allegations as of press time.
