TASFUED VC to 2026 Graduating Students: Dream, Dare and Do as TISS Records 100% Pass in 17 WASSCE Subjects

The Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education, TASFUED, and Proprietor of TASFUED International Secondary School, TISS, Igbeba, Professor Samuel Oladipo, MNPA, CMCPN, MCAN, FIELPN, has charged the 2026 graduating students of the school to take responsibility for their future by embracing resilience, courage, creativity, integrity and purposeful living.

Professor Oladipo gave the charge at the school’s Valedictory Service held in honour of the graduating class, where he urged the students to look beyond their present circumstances and pursue their aspirations with determination, encapsulated in his charge: “Dream, Dare, Do!”

The Vice-Chancellor cautioned the students against defining success solely by academic performance, stressing that life beyond secondary school would require more than excellent grades and certificates. 

According to him, the post-secondary school environment demands character, creativity, integrity, emotional intelligence, adaptability and a commitment to making meaningful contributions to society.

He urged the graduates to remain focused and resilient in the pursuit of their goals, recognise their potential and deploy the knowledge and values acquired in the school as a foundation for personal development and positive societal impact. He also charged them to remain worthy ambassadors of their alma mater, honour the sacrifices of their parents and teachers, and uphold the values instilled in them throughout their years at the school.

Speaking on the forthcoming 30th anniversary of TASFUED International Secondary School scheduled for October 2026, Professor Oladipo noted that the milestone would provide an opportunity for the institution to reflect on its achievements and renew its commitment to continuous development. He emphasized the importance of sustained innovation, technological integration, leadership development and academic excellence in preparing students for the demands of a rapidly changing world.

The Guest Speaker, Mrs. Seyi Deborah Timothy, a 2011 alumna of TISS and a Physiotherapist at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, delivered a lecture titled, “Preparation After Secondary School: TAKE CHARGE.” She encouraged the graduating students to take responsibility for their choices and future, and to approach the next phase of their education with vision, courage, discipline and a strong sense of purpose.

The Valedictory Service also celebrated the impressive academic performance of TASFUED International Secondary School in the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE. The School recorded a 100 per cent pass rate across 17 subjects, while 98 per cent of the students passed English Language. The institution also recorded 100 per cent A1 results in Digital Technology and Geography, alongside notable performances in Accounting, Commerce, Solar Photovoltaic, Chemistry and Civic Education.

In addition, four students scored above 300 marks in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB.

Academic distinction awards were presented to outstanding graduating students. Olasusi Ayomikun Inioluwa emerged as the Best Overall Student, while Logunleko Muhammad Akorede was adjudged the Second Best Student. Odulaja Susan Ibukun emerged third, Ademolu Ewaoluwa Esther placed fourth, while Abujade Ameedah Inaolaji and Sunday Nancy Iruoma emerged joint fifth-best students.

In recognition of teachers’ contributions to the students’ achievements, the Vice-Chancellor presented commendation awards to Mr. S.O. Tewogboye for Civic Education, Mrs. O.O. Adekoya for Chemistry and Mr. A.O. Fowora for Geography.

The Chairman of the Governing Board of the school, Professor Adekunle Bamiro, commended the teachers for their sacrifices and commitment. He noted that the achievements were products of effective collaboration between the home and the school, and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to supporting the Proprietor and school management in sustaining an environment that promotes academic excellence, innovation, character development and global competitiveness.

"The Board would continue to provide the strategic direction and oversight required to ensure that the school flourished and remained a source of pride to TASFUED and the nation," he added.

The Principal of TASFUED International Secondary School, Mrs. Adebola Omoyele, charged the graduating students, the Pearl Legacy Set, to see themselves as leaders, scholars and ambassadors of the institution. She urged them to remain honest, kind and diligent as they embarked on the next phase of their lives.
