Rivers State University’s Journey from Science and Technology College to Leading University

Rivers State University, originally established in 1972 as the College of Science and Technology, has grown into a leading institution in Nigeria’s higher education landscape. It gained independent university status in 1980 and was renamed Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST). In March 2017, reflecting its broader academic mandate and expanding faculties, it adopted its current name—Rivers State University (RSU).
