NSUK Students Make History, Qualify Nigeria for First-Ever Olympic Beach Volleyball Appearance

Nasarawa State University, Keffi, NSUK, has recorded another remarkable feat on the international stage as two of its students, Esther Mbah and Pamela Bawa, have helped Nigeria qualify for its first-ever Olympic Beach Volleyball appearance.  

The 200 Level Science Laboratory Technology, SLT, student, Esther Mbah, and 100 Level SLT student, Pamela Bawa, represented Nigeria at the African Beach Volleyball Championship. The duo displayed exceptional skill, determination, and teamwork to secure the historic qualification ticket for the country.  

Their achievement marks a significant milestone not only for Nigerian sport but also for NSUK, further highlighting the institution’s commitment to nurturing talent and providing opportunities for students to excel beyond the classroom.  

Through their outstanding performance, Esther and Pamela have placed NSUK prominently on the international sporting map, demonstrating that the University continues to produce students capable of competing and succeeding at the highest levels.  

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, commended the students for their exceptional performance and patriotic representation of Nigeria. She described their achievement as a source of immense pride to the University.  

Prof. Liman noted that the feat underscores NSUK’s philosophy of holistic development of students — academically, professionally, socially and athletically — while assuring students of the University’s continued support for talent development and sporting excellence.  

She congratulated Esther and Pamela for their resilience, discipline and determination, and urged them to remain focused as they prepare for the historic Olympic stage.
