Kogi Poly Rector Lauds TETFund North Central Town Hall, Commends Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in Education

The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Professor Salihu Sanusi Avidime, has called for sustained collaboration among education stakeholders in the North Central region to accelerate the development of tertiary institutions in the zone.

Prof. Avidime made the call on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the 2026 TETFund North Central Town Hall Meeting held at the Banquet Hall of the Kogi State Government House, Lokoja.

The meeting was convened by Dr. Hassan Abdulrahman Ocholi, TETFund Board of Trustees Member representing the North Central geopolitical zone, and was themed: “The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Its Impact on Tertiary Institutions in the North Central Geopolitical Zone.”

The Rector commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda in education, noting that strategic investments and sustained interventions by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund have continued to reposition the sector.

He also applauded Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his unwavering commitment to education and continued support for tertiary institutions in the state. According to him, the synergy between the state government and federal education agencies has enhanced opportunities for sustainable institutional development and improved learning environments across Kogi State.

Prof. Avidime further commended Dr. Ocholi for initiating the Town Hall Meeting, describing it as a timely and strategic platform for stakeholders to deliberate on the opportunities, challenges, and prospects of tertiary education in the region.

He noted that TETFund interventions have remained critical in providing infrastructure, academic development, and institutional capacity building across tertiary institutions, describing them as significant investments in Nigeria’s human capital and the future of education.

On behalf of the Polytechnic, the Rector pledged the institution’s readiness to collaborate with TETFund, the Kogi State Government, and other institutions across the North Central region in advancing the objectives of the Town Hall Meeting.

He emphasized that sustained collaboration, knowledge sharing, and collective advocacy would be instrumental in unlocking greater opportunities for infrastructural development, academic excellence, and institutional growth across the region.

In attendance were top government functionaries, revered royal fathers, and Chief Executives of tertiary institutions from the six North Central states and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
