ATBU SUG President Impeached Over Alleged ₦3.7m Financial Irregularities

The Students Representative Assembly, SRA, of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, ATBU, Bauchi, has impeached the Students' Union Government, SUG, President, Comrade Sharif Abdulmalik Toro, following an investigation into alleged financial and administrative irregularities.

The investigation flagged issues including the ₦1.3m sale of the SUG vehicle, ₦600,000 Man O’ War funds, ₦370,000 Iftar expenditure, ₦80,000 MSSN funds, ₦65,000 allegedly paid to the PRO, and questionable entries worth ₦1.311m under the Students Support Scheme.

According to the SRA, the committee had recommended a vote of no confidence and impeachment proceedings against the SUG President. The impeachment was subsequently carried out by the Assembly.
