Gombe State University Students Receive Nigerian Award Scholarship and Education Bursary

Gombe State University (GSU) has achieved a significant milestone with over 140 students benefiting from the Nigerian Award Scholarship and the Education Bursary Award. A ceremony was held at the University's Senate Chamber to mark the official presentation of the awards.

 

The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta; the Registrar, Dr. Abubakar Aliyu Bafeto; the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Abdulrasheed Abdulganiy; and the Deputy Director/Zonal Coordinator of the Federal Scholarship Board (FSB) North-East Zonal Office, Mrs. Obinwa Ngizi Violet.

Professor Yauta expressed his gratitude towards the scholarship initiative, emphasizing its role in alleviating economic hardships faced by students. He commended the Federal Government and relevant agencies for their efforts in promoting education.

The beneficiaries received awards ranging from ₦300,000 for undergraduate students to ₦500,000 for PhD students per session. GSU remains committed to ensuring students have access to scholarships and financial assistance programs to enhance their academic success.

 

The university administration appreciated the Federal Scholarship Board for its support and encouraged students to remain proactive in seeking educational opportunities. This achievement underscores GSU's dedication to providing its students with opportunities for academic excellence .
