IPAN Team Assesses Lead Testing Capacity at Moses Orshio Adasu University

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar, on Tuesday, 5th May, 2026, received a two-man assessment team from the Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria (IPAN) on a one-day visit to Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, to evaluate the institution’s laboratory capacity for lead (Pb) testing.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Emmanuel Eriba Otor, welcomed the team and commended the Institute for selecting the University for such an important exercise. He assured them of Management’s full cooperation, noting that the visit is akin to that of the National Universities Commission (NUC), where adherence to standards is paramount and constructive feedback strengthens the system. He further wished the team a productive engagement.

In his remarks, the Lead Assessor, Dr. Ezekiel Gube Ibrahim, stated that the assessment aims to determine the University’s technical readiness to carry out accurate and reliable lead testing in line with national and international standards.

Accompanied by Mr. Okon Anthony, he explained that the exercise would evaluate laboratory equipment, personnel competence, safety protocols, and quality assurance systems, with a view to certifying the laboratory for inclusion in Nigeria’s network of accredited public analytical facilities.
