Isonyin Grammar School Alumni Celebrate 50th Anniversary, Give Back to Alma Mater
Old students of Isonyin Grammar School, Ijebu, Ogun State, have commissioned a solar streetlight project at the school as part of activities marking their 50th graduation anniversary.

Isonyin Grammar School old students have commissioned solar streetlights at their alma mater in Ogun State to mark 50 years after graduation.
According to a statement made available to Myschoolnews on Thursday, the solar streetlights were installed to improve visibility and security within the school premises.
The initiative, according to the statement, was also part of the alumni’s efforts to give back to the institution and contribute to its development.
It added that the solar project and the anniversary celebration demonstrated the alumni’s commitment to supporting their alma mater while celebrating the relationships and memories built over five decades.
The statement noted that the commissioning was attended by members of the alumni set, the traditional ruler of Isonyin, Ijebu, Oba Abdul Rasheed Omotayo, who served as the Royal Father of the Day, among other dignitaries.
It added that the celebration also featured an award night with deserving members of the alumni honoured with awards of recognition.
It read, “Several members of the association were also honoured for their contributions to the growth of the alumni body and the preservation of the values of Isonyin Grammar School.
“The Legacy Award went to Situ Idowu Olaitan and Michael Ifabanwo, while Muyiwa Oyewole, Folusho Abiodun, Tayo Sanni, Yomi Amoye, Adediran Ogundero, Adeshina Olusegun, Lanre Rufai and Siji Odulana received the Presidential Award.
“The Enduring Service Award was presented to Adetola Babatunde, Ademola Sokoya, Ismaila Lawal and Bimbo Odukoya. Akin Bashiru and Prince Adeyinka Sipe received the Task Achievers Award, while Engineer Abdul-Ganiyu Situ and Manque Obafemi Obikoya received the Diaspora Award.”
The statement noted that the association’s President, Gbenga Okusanya, was also honoured with the Leadership Award.
The statement concluded that the awards were presented in recognition of the recipients’ contributions to the association and their efforts to sustain its unity and legacy.
