Iwo Progressive Club UCH Ibadan UCH Ibadan Chapter Celebrates Maiden 'Iwo Day' with Pomp and Royal Presence

The Iwo Progressive Club (IPC), UCH Chapter proudly Celebrated its Maiden Iwo Day on 2nd December, 2025 at the School of Health Information Management Hall.

The atmosphere was filled with pomp and pageantry as distinguished guests, royal fathers, staff, students, and friends of the club gathered to honour Iwo culture and celebrate the achievements of the IPC.

The event was graced by top dignitaries, led by the Chairman of the Day,

Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, the Chief Medical Director of UCH, The Ilufemiloye 1 and the whose presence added prestige and warmth to the celebration.

Prof. Otegbayo congratulated the IPC and said, " he is proud to associate with Iwo people".

The occasion was further elevated by the presence of eminent royal fathers: His Royal Majesty, Oba Rafiu Mosobalaje, Olupo of Oluponna, His Imperial Majesty, Oba AbdulRasheed Adewale Akanbi, TELU I, Natural Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, represented by Prince Adelani Olanrewaju, Aremo Oluwo of Iwo Land, who sincerely appreciated UCH management. His royal blessings and fatherly support made the maiden edition truly memorable.

His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulazeez Adebamiji Olatubosun Ogunkojo II, the Akire of Ikire-Ile Kingdom, represented by Barr. Yemi Abolusodun appreciated UCH management for their unwavering support and congratulated all Iwo indigines present.

The highlights of the event was the awards of recognition given to the chairman of the day, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, the Royal fathers and dignitaries on ground, and posthumous award was given to late Late Adekunle Atinwore.

The President of the Iwo Progressive Club, UCH Chapter, Prince Alao Adekunle, expressed heartfelt gratitude to

the UCH Management, especially the CMD, for providing an enabling environment and his continuous support to him. He further appreciated him for his unconditional love to him and his shared vision of excellence.

He showed his gratitude to the revered royal fathers for gracing the occasion and showing unwavering love for the Iwo community. All dignitaries, guests, friends, and supporters who contributed to the success of the event.

He also commended all IPC members for their dedication, unity, and commitment towards promoting the values and culture of Iwo land within the UCH community.
