JAMB Honours UNIZIK for Promoting Inclusive Higher Education

Nnamdi Azikiwe University, UNIZIK, Awka, has been recognised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, for its commitment to expanding access to university education for blind candidates.  

The recognition was conferred during the National Engagement on Inclusive Higher Education and Artificial Intelligence, where UNIZIK received the National Engagement on Inclusive Higher Education and Artificial Intelligence Certificate.  

The certificate acknowledges UNIZIK for admitting one of the highest numbers of blind candidates among Nigerian higher institutions. The University said the feat reflects its determination to ensure that visual impairment is not a barrier to accessing quality university education.  

The honour adds to the growing list of milestones recorded under the administration of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie. His leadership, the University noted, continues to strengthen UNIZIK’s national standing through policies that promote academic excellence, inclusion, and wider access to higher education.
